Changing Table adventure (and Week 34 Visit)

Our 34 Week visit was this week, on Tuesday, March 29th. Baby is well, and so is Sarah; nothing of great importance to report, which is just fine with us -- no news is good news! Everything going along well.

Although, within the last couple of days, little baby has decided to become heavy. Intentionally. :-)

Also, we're 99% done with our nursery!! A couple of finishing touches, but it's mostly done, due to our newest acquisition, a changing table. Here are some pictures, with the "changing table story" along with it:

Why are we showing the changing table box? Well, it was UNREASONABLY tall and wide for the actual contents. It did NOT fit in either of our cars!

So, Sarah, at Babies 'R' Us, is picking up the changing table, and realizes it won't fit in the car. I'm in UTSO rehearsal, so I can't come help her. After being stuck at the store for about an hour, she had to call Tami Newsome to come and rescue her (with her big truck...you're a lifesaver, Tami!!!). I mean, the box wasn't even that heavy...just too big!

Hmm....I wonder where the parts are...

So, the main purchases (crib, stroller, changing table, shelves, rocking chair, baby monitors) are now done!! Now, on to bottles, a carrier and other smaller stuff.

Week 32 visit

Had our Week 32 visit yesterday, and got an ultrasound. Unfortunately, little baby Fellenbaum was not very cooperative, and refused to give us a good shot of her face.

Below is the best picture we could get:

The 4D image was able to get her arm, and her lips.

But we did find out, from some other scans, that she has hair already, and is anywhere between 3 lbs 13 oz. and a solid FOUR pounds! :-)

But, baby is healthy, Sarah's healthy, and we're under 8 weeks to go. Today and tomorrow are "finish the baby's room" days!

Very special thank you to our friends Miro and Nathalie (and Daniel and Sophie who, I'm sure, had major input) for our baby mattress! We were TOTALLY floored by this!!! Just showed up on our doorstep this weekend!

A rather DIFFERENT orchestra rehearsal...

So, today, Friday February 25th, as the UT Symphony Orchestra completed their tuning, the players all of a sudden began playing Brahms' Lullaby together. I, on the podium, confused, wondered why they were doing this...

(...on occasion, orchestras will sometimes burst into some kind of piece, like Happy Birthday, if the date is, indeed, someone's birthday in the orchestra...mind you, they got me on this TOO, back in November...didn't expect that either...)

So, I REALLY didn't know why they were doing this...after a moment, I did realize they were playing this for ME, and some players gestured towards the audience. There was Sarah, and her mother, Sally, standing there...they were in on it, too!!!

THEN, some gifts were rolled towards me on a chair cart....I was AMBUSHED with a BABY SHOWER at rehearsal today!!! AMBUSHED, I say!!! :-D

Again, I was TOTALLY surprised by this, but extremely grateful for such a wonderful, beautiful gesture.

Below is a picture of what Sarah and I got today:

Included is a "Dad Rocks" hat (which I wore for the first part of rehearsal), an "I *heart* Daddy" footy pajama, a white bunny rabbit (name is still in progress, although his nickname is Oboe, since he had a conversation with Bonnie Farr today...he also conducted part of reh, too), a card (behind Oboe, above) and a pink, squishy Bumbo Seat, with "Fellenbaby" on the back. It was GREAT!!!

So, thank you to the UTSO...I think Becky Henry had a LOT to do with this, although I'm sure there must have been others who had a hand in this...please correct me/let me know by COMMENTING on this blog...we'd love to hear from you!!

Nesting...

Next OBGYN visit is March 1...hope to have new photos to show! She's the size of a small cabbage right now, and very wiggly, so the pictures ought to be good if we get them :-)

Catching up a little...

We haven't posted in a while...been busy with UT, trumpet, KSO and lots of things.

Especially the end of January into February: Sarah playing first E-Flat Trumpet on Ein Heldenleben, Jim organizing the annual UT Concerto Competition, Jeremy Wilson returning to UT to play, and lots of stuff.

We've had a couple OBGYN visits, but no new photos to post, and no "news" meaning: all is well!!

But we've certainly been nesting, and we'll post some new stuff very soon...new clothes, new baby room stuff, new stroller, to name a few.

Oh, and last, but CERTAINLY not least: we're in the third trimester!!!
