Kiri Jane Fellenbaum - Week 2

Week 2 was wonderful, challenging, fun, frustrating, sleepy. Sounds about right for a newborn?

Did I mention sleepy?

Toughest part: lack of schedule. Not that we expected any kind of schedule, but the constant shifting has been tough. Kiri will start to develop a pattern and, just when we're getting used to that, she'll totally switch up on us. And it's not just at night -- we'll try to get going with cleaning the house, catching up on some work, etc. and she'll have a new wrinkle in her "schedule." :-) We suppose that's to be expected, but, just like the saying "easier said than done," we guess it's easier to expect the difficulty than to actually experience it!

Best part, part I: watching her face changing already. Her little features are starting to shape, and we feel that her eyes are Jimmy's eyes. She has Sarah's mother's nose, we think. And her lips/mouth looks like both of us, possibly favoring Jimmy.

Best part, part II: visitors! Angie Batey and Tami Newsome (Kiri's godparents) came by a couple of times to visit, once with some wonderful gifts (both cute and needed), including a little naptime friend, below:

Sally Chumney, Sarah's mom and Kiri's "Memere," came to visit us for about half of the week, which was wonderful. She REALLY helped with cooking, helping, feeding and allowing us to sleep some. THAT was probably the best part ;-)

We took a trip to Victor Ashe park, for a little outdoor time for all four of us:

We also celebrated Sarah's birthday last Friday, May 20th, which is also Angie Batey's birthday, too!

That, along with the KSO season wrapping up, and other various activities, made it a very busy week. But, we're loving our little girl, and every day is a new adventure!

Love, Jim and Sarah
